MicroRNA (miRNA)

I microRNA (miRNA) sono molecole di RNA non codificante che svolgono un ruolo cruciale nella regolazione dell'espressione genica. I miRNA si legano all'RNA messaggero (mRNA) e ne impediscono la traduzione in proteine o ne promuovono la degradazione, influenzando così processi cellulari ( es. la proliferazione, la differenziazione, l'apoptosi e la risposta infiammatoria.

I nutraceutici possono influenzare questi meccanismi epigenetici, modulando l'espressione genica e contribuendo alla prevenzione e al trattamento di malattie.
